Ahhh I’m such a dork it’s a piano tuning lever which is the main tool you need to tune pianos.  I just bought one yesterday with some felt and rubber mutes (to stop some strings from sounding, which is something you neeed for piano tuning) and I’m totally pumped to learn this skill.  The guy I work next to at Park who teaches the orchestra was a piano tuner in Russia and when he first came to the U.S., so he taught me a few things and I’m off and running!  I figure in 5 years I’ll actually know what I’m doing. :) Until then I’ll have a blast figuring it out.

Just recorded a new song about weddin/marriage that I can’t wait to share with you.  We’re gonna make a music video of it with pictures from our wedding, so expect that mid-November (as soon as Tommy can finish editing them!!  Get it DONE tommy!!)

I’m gonna go read about and watch videos of piano tuning.  I love it.  Dork.

So we send cameras down down down to the low part of the ocean and even set traps for these new animals .  Imagine a plane with a glass canopy that the pilot opens to get in and out.  Then imagine that design on a fish that was just discovered swimmin around in the beautiful deep.

Right now my main job is piano teaching, which is actually quite fun, but in addition I’m spending a good bunch of time learning about shooting and grading (color-correcting) video, as well as messing around with photography.  I have a DSLR and I’m loving the freedom and the creativity that comes with working with light.

Now, I’m a musician – I get that, but there’s also this rush that I get with letting light mess with my emotions.  For the longest time I got better and better at letting sound mess with my emotions,  but now it’s a whole new game because light is a whole new world for me.

On top of that I’m trying to be a great husband, spend time with God, friends, blog, make videos, finish videos I’ve started, learn how to tune pianos (really?), finish my harry potter novels, and plan for the future.

It always seems like so much and not enough at the same time.  If I could suck in all the information of every time and place I would love to know in depth all of human knowledge.  But I’m stuck, because time limits me more than anything else.  I only have a specific time each day, and for my entire life to get really good at something.  But I can’t focus on just one thing.

Call me crazy but I can’t help but be a jack of some trades, master of none.

Have you ever fallen in love with learning so much that you feel you’ve gone too far?

The trees turn to sticks soon but not before the beautiful show of red, orange, and yellow. I’m looking forward to making more and more videos of new songs, and videos of teaching how to write songs or at least how to dissect them to learn about them. I love teaching.

Just got married the middle of August. My wife is beautiful, wonderful, everything I never knew I wanted but everything I need. Jesus is so good to us and I look forward to learning more and more about Him and sharing His love with the world. So many people twist His words into hatred and condemnation but that’s just not the message.

Hope you’re loving this season too and watching some doors close while others open! The changing of the leaves coincides with school starting up again and people buckling down after a summer of dilly-dallying, so let’s get some good things done.
